Hi,

as i dont know how to spec my skald in a proper way, id like to know what others might have to say about that.

Here are my thoughts, what a skald spec could look like:

Hammer 46
Battlesongs 43
Parry 19

or

Hammer 46
Battlesongs 44
Parry 17

or should i neglect parry and go for

Hammer 50 / 49 / 47 / 44 ?????
Battlesongs 43 / 44 / 46 / 49 ????

Hope to read some thoughts about this.

Well IMO there is very little point with aiming at the 46 in hammer, it's either 44 or 50, as there is no weapon style in between.

If you're starting with 43 in battlesong (which is the minimal for the last speed), you can max your weapon skill, while neglecting parry of course.
I'd go for the 43/50/2 in this case. I think the benefits of the points spent in weapon are higher than the ones with parry.

same as funk

i've been running with my skald on that spec (well not hammer but thats a different issue ^^) since he was 50 with quite some success, i didnt expect to parry much but it still happens quite a few times

couldnt compare it to other specs though because i only played my skald with that one

i ran around with 44 hammer, 46 bs and 17 parry most of the time and its`quite nice.
now i am 44 hammer, 43 bs and 21 parry, you have only the yellow dmg add song, but instead you parry a little more.

/edit hups that was 44 hammer, 44 bs and 21 parry sry

If you go 43 BS and 44 Hammer, you will have 23 in parry, but one of your 2 DD will be only lvl 26.

IMHO, you'd better go to 44 BS, 44 Hammer and 21 parry.

I did 44 Hammer, 44 BS, Rest Parry

- In groups: Shaman buffs Dmg Add (you play speed for supporters [ok most mid groups have at least 1 aug healer, but you dmg add is not sooo much better])
- Solo: Active RA's wtf pwn you! (Aotg2), + afterparry stun ^^

Why hammmer are there not to manny positionals and styles based on evade , parry or am i wrong looking on the styles on "herald" ?

I was going for Axe since there are not many pre's for the high level styles or am i wrong here?

Are the stylelines different then on other servers perhaps?

I think the only 2 viable weapon specs for Skald are Hammer or Sword.

I think Hammer because of the low end cost, and the snare style from behind? Problem is it has low, or no to-hit bonus on it.

If you want more damage, then I think people began going with 50 Sword spec due to the high growth rate of Ragnarok in one of the updates.

A Higher RR troll skald with 50 sword can really dish out some damage so long as he's not cc'd lol.

If you're lucky enough to have a celerity healer with you, even better!

Either way, if you mostly PvP then almost no reason to have high Parry as you are likely assist training (assisting the MT) mostly and I would say are almost never the first target.

well lately i've seen a lot of "axe" specced characters

would be funny if i started this with my skald

i never liked hammer as a weapon and since i like the graphics of a huge axe i chose an axe skald :P
