Good luck, Brez! Paladins may have issues in high level 8v8 play, but you will be loved in all other aspects of the game! Keep battles, zerging, small man PvP, and every kind of PvE will place you in high demand! I would certainly recommend leveling up your Chants and Slash lines with autotrain, as it will be hilariously easy to get groups at launch. Playing as a weak tank (with grey endo regen!) for your early days will be worth it, IMO, for the extra points you get later on!

Started as a full 2h pala, with my friend MA as a tank, and I'm aiming at 50 2h/ 46 chants/ 38 slash. Which is probably the strangest paladin ever done but hey, it's a beta

On a more serious note, I was wondering if something like 44 2h/42 shield/38 chants/28 slash would be viable....
Thoughts ?

Chants will be good enough, but 2h damage will lack for sure:

-only 44 in 2h
-only 28 in damage type => much variance
-after all, you are a paladin and wont do much damage anyways :P

Think on average, your dps with 2h will be around the same as paladin with 1h/shield but with higher slash spec...

but hey, its beta, try it ;)

Just sticking with the good ole' thrust/chant/shield spec here. Serving me well in my 40's so far!

Before going full 2handed, I was thinking about an hybrid spec for my pala.

The best I came up with was : 44 2H/42 Shield/42 Chants/25 Slash

So you barely have endo red, and you can't be satisfied with the yellow one since 2h costs are too high. All other chants are yellow
42 for slam

Finally you have 44 2H and 25 Slash.... Except if you are 10L, you probably aren't going to deal enough damage to be worth mentioning.
So I chose to forget about shield.
