What would someone think of a pure defensive Just meant to be a super annoying front wall which seems like it would never die vs other melees type build.

Maybe 50 crush/slash 50 shield rest parry build?
Or even a 50 thrust, 50 shield, rest parry saracen build?

How vast do you think the dmg drop off would be?

its not like you only sacrifice a lot of frontload dmg, you also dump this super superb pole backsnare. keep that in mind. alb is just not flexible enough for this kinda stuff as we dont get free 2h like facerollnoobgard does.

pole snare is anytime, not positional - so overpowered. Also, unless you drop your RR points into mastery of block/parry you're not going to be a "wall" without sacrificing Det 5. honestly, you will be hard pressed to find a group without being the standard armsman spec with det 5

Damage Drop Off would be extreme (about 1/2 I would guess). Your ability to peel would be massively reduced.

If you are talking about 8x8, search a group stupid enough to stick a tank (before everything else is dead).
This usually only happens when you overextend out of Healrange. :D

Anytime pole snare is really strong. I would always go for a hybrid spec, either for a defensive role (Peeler) or offensive role (dmg).

Don't forget, Pole is always 100% Str based, so think about a thrust Saracene hybrid Arms. ;)

I don't think this type of spec would work real well. 42 shield, 39 weapon is more than enough to accomplish most of the defensive role you play in RvR and still allow you to spec 50 in polearm.

I ll go 44 pole , 35 thrust, 34 slash , 42 shield , 7 parry so ican swap slash or thrust pole dmg.
