To be honest, the arguments pro are better than contra. Also there are no forum posts about complaining Animist players from 2002/2003, which would definitely have existed.

=> Animist bomber spells will now use the Animist's crit chance for the respective spell

Posted by Nayru at Sun, 05 Jun 2016 20:23:04 UTC

@Yintz: Animists don't have bombers any more on live. All spells are now direct. Also that patch note is about spec levels, not crits.

@ Ohai: 2009 post, NF era, different RA. Bombers are pets technically that cast the spells for you.

@ Laraea: We're not trying to reinvent the game here. We implement whatever the game was designed for, not what everyone thinks would be best.

Does anyone have an animist video from the OF era where he can find crits?

@laraea - bombers are not turrets. Those magical floating single target wisps you see animists cast those are called bombers. Please at least know what the issue is before saying an issue is invalid.

Animists bomber turrets they can spam anywhere they want were never intended to crit, as this would make them very OP for RvR.

This is the trade off for Animists to have this type of spam placement ability while they are off away hiding and letting their turrets do all the heavy lifting for them.

If this class had crit rates for their bombers, it would unbalance the RvR play field, as they could simply dump down a lot of them inside keeps for defense and wipe entire groups with no other support needed.

This should not be changed and you will not find any old data to support this ability that they should crit.

Then for RvR, get dex4, then MoM->WP->AA … can't think of anything else that really rocks. MoC is kinda cool, but kinda situational as well. I never had it and I didn't wish I had it very often. Maybe at RR9+ or so. I was 7L9 (69) and had MCL (5), dex4 (20), mom4 (20), wp4 (20), AA2 (4). Worked out for me with like 800dmg on crit.

Also dont take my word on the 5% base crit, i dont have proof of what base crit actually is i see some daoc forums sayign its 10% as well

Also, when casting bomber spells on live AND on uthgard itself, it is displayed as your own personal damage. It had never been listed as a pets damage as the bombers are not technically pets. The damage from these spells is listed as "You hit the monster for 300 damage!" Everything should pass through... Crit, resist rate, damage variance from spec...

- Animist spec levels now "pass through" to their bomber pets. This should affect the random damage range that the bombers do.

Had someone log on live and test with animist with no realm abilities. Here is the screenshot - http://imgur.com/j6nofWU

Not sure what to make out of this. You will probably have to learn the Wild Minion ability which allows your pet spells to crit. The only exception to this rule so far is the Necromancer class.

Is anyone able to find any proof that bomber spells should take their owner's crit chance instead of their own chance?

Posted by ☆☆☆ z9s at Tue, 31 May 2016 23:03:00 UTC

They do not crit.

Note: If the issue turns out to be related to the bomber being classified as an npc/mob, it might be worth checking to see if this influences any other pet related classes.

I'm wondering if necros are experiencing this.

yes, on my lvl 43 animist, aboreal/verdant spec i see no crit on Bombers, also not one the verdant ae bomb

Posted by ☆☆ Twinkle at Fri, 27 May 2016 11:21:36 UTC

I would guess the current implemenation uses the crit chance of the bombernpc instead of the caster.

Posted by ☆ Dohplay at Thu, 26 May 2016 18:36:39 UTC

yes, all list caster spells should have base crit chance...

Posted by ☆☆ Cantoecrafto at Wed, 25 May 2016 22:06:06 UTC

agree , no crits :\

Posted by ☆☆ Experiri at Wed, 25 May 2016 20:13:30 UTC

Agree. 47 levels on my Animist, creeping Spec using Creeping Bombers, not a single Crit.

All melee attacks have a chance to critical, and all direct damage spell attacks (including bolts) by a robe or list caster (a caster whose spell book is organized into drop down menus) have a chance to critical. Grab Bag 10/25/02

Crit DoTs and Heals have a 0% chance before Realm Abilities Grab Bag 10/25/02

The bomber dd spells should be given a base 5% chance to crit like all other dd list caster's spells.

any evidence for the intended behavior you mention?
