Add damage and damage shield seemed to have a higher vallue than expected to the point that you could be killed with a 16.1 dps weapon faster than you get killed by a 9.0 dps return shield without being hit => value stays coherent to the % ratio between 16.1/9.0 even after applying the style value.
It also seems that the add damage shows the same issue
1. try any of your level toon
2. put on add damage
3. use unstyled / styled
4. compare values
5. put Damage shield on a target
6. compare styled/untyled damages
Add damage and damage return shield's damages should be considered before any style bonus is applied to to the hit but considering the level difference and magical resistance.
The Damage applied should only be considering the swing time, base dps, and no bonus from caracteristics, styles ...
example here for an add damage doing 24 on a 212 hit (with +90) then another style does 158 (+44 bonus) + 23 add damage bonus => stay coherent with 212-90 = 122, 158-44=114 without style bonus

being killed by my own self on a damage shield of an aug spec healer while double refreshing (46+46) and blocking 90% of the blows and adding myself some damages while styling ...

i think both could be related on the way Damage shields/Add damages are calculated
