The level 41 enchanter Light spec melee damage debuff Dazzling Strobe is supposed to make the target do 20% less melee damage. Instead it increases targets melee damage by ~20%.
I did three tests.
Test 1:
Undebuffed damage 12 hits, average damage 52.2
Debuffed damage 7 hits average 64.1
Test 2:
Undebuffed damage 20 hits average damage 57.4
Debuffed damage 8 hits average 62.9
Test 3:
Undebuffed damage 8 hits average damage 52.6
debuffed damage 8 hits average damage 67.6
The debuff is actually increasing the damage of the target, rather than decreasing it.
1. Make a light spec enchanter of at least level 41
2. Have your pet attack a mob, note the damage
3. Apply the melee damage debuff Dazzling Strobe
The damage the debuffed mob is doing to your pet will increase rather than decrease.
The level 41 melee damage debuff Dazzling Strobe needs to actually REDUCE the targets melee damage, rather then INCREASE it as it is doing now. It might be good to check the other debuffs in this line to make sure they are not behaving the same way. I haven't often bothered to cast this spell before as it costs a LOT of power and it is better for me to just use that power for another couple nukes. I think that in a group against purple mobs, it would be useful to be able to use it though.
If a power says it will decrease melee damage of the target, and instead increases melee damage of the target, I assume that it is a bug. Since it can't be cast on friends, it must be a debuff, and debuffs should make the target less effective, not more so. This debuff makes the target do significantly more damage. I believe it is a bug.
