From testing on various GT ranges it appears the max range for the Volley RA is 2350 units. Per evidence online, the range of this RA should be 1.5 times the normal shot range. For Flight arrows and Recurve bow the normal range is 2100 units. This means the max range for Volley should be 3150 units.
1. Get the Volley RA and Flight arrows on a ranger (maybe any archer class)
2. Using /groundset, set your GT range to 2400 units (well below the max)
3. Attempt to use Volley and note you see a message that your target is out of range.
It appears that prior to the major archery changes that went in post 1.65, the range of Volley should be 1.5 times the normal shot range. This means you should be able to /groundset 3150 and the gt should still be in range for Volley
