As it is now you still need to have the last hit on a mob in order to get credit for a one time drop. According to bug report 0570 it is supposed to have been changed so that the whole group gets credit, but we tried killing 7 or 8 OTD mobs last night and its still not fixed. Only the person who got the deathblow received the OTD item.
1. Group with a friend
2. Kill a OTD mob
3. Check to see if both people got credit
If any member of a group kills a OTD mob then any member of said group that is within range should receive credit.
