Quest tomte of doom only progresses if you get the kill shot on the quest mob instead of progressing if the group kills the quest mob.
1. Take multiple characters
2. Kill the quest mob with one of them and see if it gives credit to both.
3.
Have the quest update to all group members if anybody in the group gets the killing blow.
This is the same occurence for almost all quests that I have done.
