If you fight in a duel and a pet is killed (tested with hunter + sm), the duel ends, even though no player has been killed or a surrender was done.
1. start a duel between a pet class and any other class
2. kill the pet
3. see that duel ends
see where the duel is interrupted and make it continue.
Tried it in several duels to kill a pet from hunter or spiritmaster, did so with different players, same result -> duel ends.
