When buying gear from Merchants in DF you have to buy them one at a time you can not select a quantity. If you do you will spend the correct amount of seals but only get one item
1.go into DF
2.Get a bunch of seals
3.try to buy gear using a quantity more than 1
should give you the correct amount of goods for seals spent
I selected 8 swords for salvage and got one having spent 140 seals
