While running the "Spicket, Spackit and Spykit" quest in Hib, I saw that the quest mob "Spicket" was not named "Spicket", but appeared only as a normal spraggon.
There was no way to identify the quest mob.
Killing the quest mob did drop the quest item (Spicket's Head) and the quest can be completed, but one must randomly kill Spraggons in the correct area until you happen to get the quest mob.
1. Get the "Spicket, Spackit and Spykit" quest from Mannix in Mag Mel. Choose the "Strength" path to get the Spicket quest branch.
2. Run to the trees west of the Bridge between Ardee and DL (43K, 31K is close)
3. Start killing Spraggons, Spicket only spawns at or around 9PM (2100) so you might have to wait a while, but kill spraggons constantly, because one of the spraggons MAY be Spicket from the previous day.
4. After a while, the quest item "Spicket's Head" will drop in your inventory from killing a normal Spraggon
It sounds like a copy/paste mistake in the quest spawning script. But I have no insight into how that works under the hood.
1) I remember doing this quest on live.
2) The other quest-branches in this quest have named mobs as the goal. (I've killed Spykit behind Ardee
3) The quest description at http://camelot.allakhazam.com/quests.html?cquest=305 shows named mobs for all 3 quest branches
4) This is a simple "Kill the Named Mob" quest, there are countless others like it through the realms.
