I have played 3 differend melee classes now, and all have encountered the same problem, with mobs being "too far away to attack" even though you'r eright on top of it, and casters and even my own Druid pet can attack, but I can't.
1. Attack random mobs around Connla/Mag Mel in Hib.
2. Might take a few tries, as it seems to be completely random.

Just make it so, that you can actually attack all mobs in melee, when you are /stuck to them.
Ofcourse this is not correct :) All mobs should be attackable, when /stuck to them in opan landscape.
