I tried to salvage the item "Vae Inimicus Aegis", a shield drop from Catacombs of Cordova. The interface reports "You cannot salvage this item." My Metalworking and Woddworking Skills are at 699, which should be sufficient for salvaging a level 37 item.
1. Get the Item "Vae Inimicus Aegis" with a character having Metalworking at around 700!
2. Rightclick the item in the character Inventory!
3. Click on "salvage"!
Using "salvage" should either report that the Skill of the character is not sufficient, or transform the item into crafting material.
To be honest, I don't know whether this item is intended to be salvagable. There are no reports from classic or later DAOC versions stating that this item cannot be salvaged. It just seems totally inconsistent with the rest of the loot from the Catacombs of Cordova.
