When you have a kill task, you can cancel it in two ways:
* Die
* Wait 2 hours (ingame)
I noticed that dying in a /duel (instead of in PvE or in RvR), it cancels the kill task, too.
1. Get a kill task
2. Die in a /duel
3. Notice that the kill task is gone
Dying in a /duel should not cancel your kill task.
I have no evidence (and I don't know if this was the case on Live 1.65), but I suppose that it was not the case.
From a game design perspective, it doesn't really make sense, as the other two ways involve some kind of cost (waiting 2 hours; PvE death with exp loss if lvl 6+; RvR death where you have to invest time to find an enemy that will kill you, and/or money for the port), while dying in a /duel doesn't (well, it only involves asking for 10 seconds of another player's time).
