I logged into the game and checked my CM. I had sold some crafted items and had 7platinum on my CM. I tried to /settle 10000000 copper off my merchant which would have removed 1plat and left 6plat on my CM. Instead all of the currency on my CM got deleted and no money went to the character trying to /settle with the CM.
1. Have 7platinum on your CM
2. issue /settle 10000000 command to your CM
3. Click in panic back and forth between your character inventory and your CM when you realize you may have just lost 7 platinum.
/settle 5000 should return 50s to your character from your CM
/settle 500000 should return 50g to your character from your CM
/settle 10000000 should return 1p to your character from your CM
I was not able to find a post dating back to 2003-4 describing how /settle is supposed to work but I found this post about withdrawing from your CM.
