I had the Monstrous Beast quest, ran over to DF entrance where Hrrgyf is, just as I arrived a SM began attacking him so I sat by watching waiting for him to kill Hrrgyf and then respawn, however when Hrrgyf died i received 'The Yellow Canary' the book you need to retrieve from Hrrgyf. Only problem, I had no participation in the fight, other than being slightly nearby.
As great as a free quest item is, I 100% did not deserve it for just watching!
1. Be level 10 and talk to Vik to get the Monstrous Beast Quest
2. Be ungrouped and find Hrrgyf
3. Watch Hrrgyf be killed by somebody else without helping at all
4. Receive the quest item! :/
You should be receiving 'The Yellow Canary' without actually attacking and killing Hrrgyf yourself.
You shouldn't be able to progress in a quest, or receive a quest item without doing the actual task yourself.
