For the Uthgard adminstration, a fair and unbiased staff is very important. In a case of a serious problem between a player and a member of staff (including the suspicion of abuse by a member of staff), any player has the right to contact the administration. The player should write an email to nayru [at] uthgard-server.net. He should not post or discuss the problem in IRC, the forum or any other community part, as this won't be tolerated by the staff and may result in punishments against the player.

If a player runs into technical problems in the game, he may contact the staff by using the /appeal command. The player has to explain the situation and the problem as detailed and precise as possible. Replies may take some time, since there is not always a member of staff online. If you don't receive a reply immediately, wait some time and try again later. If you submit an appeal, please state your appeal directly and clear instead of asking whether someone if available. Please note that all appeals are logged and stored. If there is nobody online to help with your appeal, the staff may contact the player later to help with the problem. No appeal is lost.

The abuse of support features like /advice and /appeal is not allowed and may result in punishments.
§2.11 Penalty calculation - "second instance"
The penalty calculation and decision are in the free discretion of the acting staffmember. This includes the kind of punishment as well as the duration. If you do not agree with the penalty, you have to talk to the acting member of staff about the matter. If this does not help, you may contact the administration as “second instance”. Write an email to nayru [at] uthgard-server.net or send a private message in the forum. You may not post or discuss the problem in the IRC, forum or other community parts. |
§2.13 IP-relatedness of punishments
In case of a rule violation, the staff will check the IP address of the acting player. All accounts that are or were bound to the IP address will usually be taken into account. There will be no check how many players have logged in through the affected IP address. The only exception will be done if a player is able to convince the staff that one or more affected accounts have nothing to do with the acting player who violated the rule.
§2.14 Account-relatedness of punishments
In case of a rule violation, all accounts of the player who violated the rule will be affected, regardless of the kind or duration of the punishment.
§2.15 Prohibition of playing on Uthgard while during penalties
When a player -and all of his accounts- got a time based punishment (ban), he is not allowed to play on Uthgard for the duration of the ban. This prohibition includes the login of non-affected or new accounts of the same player or other players. If a player ignores this, logs out, or out of sudden goes linkdead with one or both characters, it will be considered as an illegal dual login. There are no exceptions.
§3.9 Greykilling
The killing of realm enemies that are coloured grey for the killing character (and therefore are way below his level and do not give any experience, realm points or kill stats) is explicitly not forbidden. |

The guilds/alliances have to secure their channels with a password. If they don’t, the staff has the right to remove the bot from the channel. In case a channel is unused, the guild/alliance has to inform the staff about the situation. Guild/alliance bots are limited ressources.

Violating lastnames will be changed without any notification. The staff will try to contact players before changing names. If there is a firstname to be changed, the staff usually will contact the player and ask him to choose a new name. If there is no reaction, the player will be forced to choose a new name. In serious cases, especially if the name is used as a provocation against the staff, there will be no contact to the player. In such situations, the staff has the right to delete the char.
§6.7 No claim on name changes

VII. Abuse, exploits, bugs and 3rd party software/hardware
§7.1 Prohibition of hacks and tools
The usage of hacks or exploits will lead to the permanent ban of all accounts of the player. This includes radar tools, speedhacks, macrotools (leveltools) and sniffertools. In such cases the ban will be set without any notification of the player. Programmed hardware (keyboard, mouse) or the usage of other tools (even a small stick attached to the keyboard to continuously press a key) that causes the character to make actions while being away from the game are affected by this rule and will have the same consequences.

§7.3 Obligation to inform the staff about bugs and exploits
Bugs and exploits have to be reported to the staff as soon as they are discovered. If a player deliberately does not tell the staff about a bug or exploit, it may be punished. Assuming the staff to know about the bug/exploit is no excuse.

Abuse and rule violations should be reported. The staff wants a working community where the rules are followed. Therefore we count on your help to reach that goal. This includes reports about buffbots and macrotool-users like levelbots. If you want to report an abuse or a rule violation, use the /appeal command or contact a staffmember in the IRC or forum. Such reports will be treated confidentially. We are grateful for each report. Please note that in most cases the staff can only take actions if you provide screenshots and/or logfiles.
