For my soon 50 theurg (40 earth, 36 wind) I planned to get a cheap beginners template ( http://www.tokk.eu/tokkblog/index.php/2 ... emp?blog=2 ) for now, and maybe a high end temp later.

Due to newest patch, all focus is no longer possible, so I need better jewlry or mp parts anyway, so I am thinking about making a very decent temp from the beginning, which should at least offer +11 Wind, stats, hps, resists full cap.

I won't solo or smallman a lot, so I dont think buff charges are necessary. What else should I build into temp? Would do +earth do any good? Is +manapool any worth for theurg (if it doesnt increase base pool from which pet mana usage is calculated?)... anything else?

There are so many extremely expensive caster templates out with lots of tajendi stuff - but whats the reason for it? I will carry along mana pots and mana reggen pots for raids without sorc anyway.

I hear alot of people opting to NOT increase their power pool due to the pets costing a % and not a fixed amount.

Also, I have heard earth+ is useless, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I can't remember atm but I think I use the Greater staff of the storms(sp?) which has all focus on it

Yes, crafted staff should not be used anymore in a mage template.

Well, because you need now 2 slots instead of 1 - but as casters with one spell line are pretty easily to sc, this should not be a too big problem.... except maybe you wanna max str for carry rams or whatever... or make a template for all possible speccs..

OT: Make sure u have a pom charge on one of your items. U will need it when doing pve.
Best but expensive solution for this is Gelid Whisperer. Cheaper items r Sh Staff (pom3) or cloth crown from Grand Summoner (pom4). Sorry for not remembering any item names :P

Pom charge doesn't have to be built in. U can easily switch items to buff it or buy pom pots instead. The only charge item u should consider putting into ur template is the insta dd one to rupt quickly in rvr. I would suggest using Obedience as staff for insta dd. When I made my temp this staff was riddiculously cheap.

Items of this one were cheap when i bought them.
+ For cheaper result, you can use 99% arms, and reduce power bonus (+11 power on arms become +7 i think).
+ Every cloth caster can use Obedience, so every mage can use this template if they need +11 on one skill only. The +4 Wind will be wasted, but it doesn't matter.
+ Include one of the cheapest item with a 75 d/q charge (Director's Ring of Bedlam).

Just my 2 Cents:
Why do you want a beginner template? Join or better organize some Temple Runs, SHRaids etc and you have enough Platins or items for a Highend Template. Dont waste some platins for a so called Beginner Template :). And dont forget the double costs and tip for the SCler and Alchemist

What would a highend temp do better?

It is an all cap temp, even some str. I got dd on staff and on df one hand staff. I could easily swap in an acu buff charge item, though I hardly manage to nuke, as I m perma rupted or chasen by enemy offtanks. I prefer pom or mana pots over charges, as they got a better timer, and leave my dd for rupt. AF Charge I got on crafted cloak, maybe from epic when I manage to do it.

So, with better jewlry I could cap str... I heard rumors, that capping quick for casters make you cast faster after being rupted, but I dont think so. With cap quick maybe you could kill a pet add easier...

Or what do I miss?

I did this temp when I entered Thid, and I am happy about it. There is a huge difference not going untemplated or with wilton temp into Thid. And as its cap, I think you could easily sell it... when you make a highend temp, but as I said, I do not know, what to change.

A D/Q charge without swap. This kind of charge have to be used in fight, when you are sheard and cleirc not able to rebuff, and the swap of item will make you lost few seconds.

Faster swing speed. If you use your staff to rupt, it reduces delay until next cast... Very usefull :lol:

As I am earth/air spec, I can make full use of obedience. Also I swapped out one df dia ring with one kobil ring = d/q charge on ring, but not highest qq^^ No quick, though :-)

I am quite a minmaxer, but as theu is my 3rd char only, I can live with those flaws :-), at least quite a time^^
