I'm thinking about playing a highlander mercenary on release and was wondering what the best weapon spec/weapons will be other there for RvR. Leaning towards doing crush or slash (don't know why)

Are the good weapons going to be dropped for slash/crush or will they be crafted?

Also, what speed are the crafted Swords/Crush weapons?

Also, What are the go to styles considering cookie cutter 50DW/36composite weapon/42shield/restparry spec?
^^^What is the best anytime style here?

Imo, level as Crush so you Autotrain the other two and then down the road you can switch if you want.

Thrust is harder to template, so if you ever want to do this it would be better much later.

Slowest crafted main hand hammer (16.5 dps) is 3.8
Slowest crafted main hand sword (16.5 dps) is 4.0
Slowest crafted main hand thruster (16.5 dps) is 3.9

As for drops, well iirc for 1.65 the dragon and DF drops are not any slower.

Yes, go 50 DW, 42 Shield, Composite 51 weapon and the rest parry.

Use the DW any time, but in RvR you can probably use side/back most of the time on something not fighting back.

I was planning to autotrain with Crush until level 40. Giving 54 autotrain points....
If you autotrain to level 48 you'll get 77 extra points which will allow you to get one more point in parry.

Also is there a website you are referencing for the crafted items you could link?

What about offhand choices. Is it customary to go slowest mainhand and fastest offhand?

Yeah that's totally reasonable and saves you a respec stone. But if you aren't sure if you want to go slash right away then you could continue as Crush to 50.

Just ignore the Legendary weapons and make sure you have Arcanium selected because there are some slower weapons that don't go to 16.5 dps.

I think your offhand will depend on whether you have haste up, always access to dex/qui etc. Whenever you attack with both weapons (chance depends on total DW) you will get an averaging of the swing times. Your offhand always hits for base damage, so it would hit harder with a slower weapon but you'd get less of a haste effect. This haste effect doesn't lower the damage on your mainhand though I think so its something to consider.
