Flute Mez

On live servers, as long as flute mez existed, you could cast flute mez while you yourself are mezzed. The mez wouldn't land until you came out of the mez and your target was in line of sight/range. Additionally, you could begin casting flute mez and proceed to break line of sight or range and the mez would continually try to land until you got back into range and line of sight.
I have played a few freeshards and none of them adhere to this live-like quirk/mechanic/oddity/whatever you want to call it. Has anyone here attempted to do these things on a Minstrel on this server? Can they confirm whether the flute mez mechanics are truly live-like or not? |

They get a hidden spread heal as well but only if they are mezzed and sleeping!

Haha, not sure if this is a joke or not. If it is a joke, I guess my sense of humor sucks lol If it is sarcasm, perhaps implying that my statements are an attempt to make minstrels stronger than you'd like them to be, you can test it for yourself. I played a minstrel in Thidranki pretty much since they implemented /level 20. I eventually got Lone Enforcer in there and leveled it out a couple years ago. Regardless, that is in fact how the mechanics work (and still do to this day). Celteen, do you have a level 9+ minstrel? Do you know if Uthgard's flute mez is accruate to the live mechanics? |
|
If you don't want to level one yourself, wait a bit until the instant lvl xx feature in beta is enabled, to test it yourself.
Then, if Uthgard also doesn't have this "feature", it helps to provide videos that show this behavior (preferable at patch lvl 1.65) and you can open an issue for it. |

Oh, I didn't know they were going to enable auto leveling, that's great. I got a rogue to level 3, but I really did not have any motivation to continue leveling knowing that the character will be deleted. Once I can auto level to 9+ I'll test it out. I'd be glad to make a video if the mechanics on Uthgard are inaccurate. As for finding videos, I'm not sure. Depending on how good my YouTube skills are, I may not have the time to find videos from that patch level. All I can really offer is my decade+ of minstrel experience. |

I can tell you that flute mez here now works like live. You can start the mez within range/los and then leave range/los - when you return to having both the mez will instantly land.
Except this part you mention of being able to start the flute mez while you are mezzed... eh.. I don't think so. ![]() Nezix - 50 Minstrel <The Band>

then you have nothing to offer, this is not considered as appropriate. If it did not change, you can log in on Pendragon and submit your results in a proper bug report. |

Cool man, glad to see the toxic mindset regarding community interaction from live servers was successfully integrated here on Uthgard forums, too. Really gives an authentic feel. edit: Sorry, that was my gut reaction reply. I guess I have a fragile ego. I'm assuming you're on the autism spectrum or English isn't your first language and don't understand how to tell me that it isn't Uthgard's policy to base their mechanics off people's memory in a courteous way. I apologize. Last edited by ian_ on May 17, 2016 06:55, edited 1 time in total.

Thanks for letting me know. Regarding beginning flute mez while mezzed, does "don't think so" mean that it for sure doesn't work? Pretty cool to hear that they fixed that, though, even if only partially. Cheers. |

I did a quick google search and maybe found some basis to the flute mez firing once the minstrel breaks their own mez. Something like: Start minstrel flute mez Minstrel is mezzed Minstrel is demezzed flute mez fires But I won't be able to test it on live until after work. Nezix - 50 Minstrel <The Band>

Ah, yes, that works too. I just remember being able to start flute mez while mezzed. It was a great way to trick people into breaking mez on you because they would think you're not mezzed and try to interrupt you. |

I would like further proof that this existed in 1.65 though, this may be a much more recent live bug. I can't accept at this point that I've played DAoC this much (no live for 3-4 years) and that its been like this the whole time. Works for other songs too, so I assume its also like that for Bard. So far the earliest record of this I have found is from 2011: http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/minst-mez-it-is-non-interruptable-right.452406441/
