Hello Fellow Necromancers,
After finally getting my Lifter II for obvious reasons, i have to decide between going Wild Power II and MoM II (specced both to I until now). I tried to calculate which would be better and I used the following formula: Base Dmg = 100. Base Crit Chance = 5% Crit in PvE = 10%-99%, so average is 54,5%. Average Dmg with Wild Power II and MoM I: Base Dmg: 100*1,03 from MoM I= 103 Crit Chance = 5% + 10% from WP II Avg Crit in PvE= (10,3+101,97)/2 =56,135 Avg Crit in PvP= (10,3+51,5)/2=30,9 Average Dmg in PvE : 103+(0,15*56,135)= 111,420 =+ 11,42% Average Dmg in PvP: 103 +(0,15*30,9)=107,635 = +7,64% Average Dmg with Wild Power I and MoM II: ase Dmg: 100*1,06 from MoM II= 106 Crit Chance = 5% + 5% from WP I Avg Crit in PvE= (10,6+104,94)/2 =57,77 Avg Crit in PvP= (10,6+53)/2=31,8 Average Dmg in PvE : 106+(0,10*57,77)= 111,77 =+ 11,77% Average Dmg in PvP: 106 +(0,10*30,9)=109,9 = 9,9% Conclusion: MoM II has slightly better average dmg in PvE, and clearly better average dmg in PvP. Any thoughts of people who really knowsomething about maths and statistics ? Hibenosa Legendary Alchemist and Infiltrator 50

AFAIK your power drain is just dependent on base dmg, a high crit will not lead to more mana, making mom stronger than wp as well.
I think your math looks fine ![]() Could be more precise if we knew something about the crit distribution. Don't think it would change the result though. PS You can crit up to 100% imo |
|
Are you sure that this is the case? I am asking because my current knowledge is that the base crit chance is 10% and as I have made a pretty big Excel sheet based on that knowledge I really would like to double-check. ![]() Beside that I would go for MoM: This way you have a more reliable enhancement of your lifetab spells which is my opinion is more favorable especially in dangerous situations. |

Well but Lifetap will give you more life, so that equals out i guess.
I actually dont know exactly. If its 10% it changes to: Average Dmg with Wild Power II and MoM I: Base Dmg: 100*1,03 from MoM I= 103 Crit Chance = 10% + 10% from WP II Avg Crit in PvE= (10,3+101,97)/2 =56,135 Avg Crit in PvP= (10,3+51,5)/2=30,9 Average Dmg in PvE : 103+(0,20*56,135)= 114,227 =+ 14,22% Average Dmg in PvP: 103 +(0,20*30,9)=109,18 = +9,18 Average Dmg with Wild Power I and MoM II: Base Dmg: 100*1,06 from MoM II= 106 Crit Chance = 10% + 5% from WP I Avg Crit in PvE= (10,6+104,94)/2 =57,77 Avg Crit in PvP= (10,6+53)/2=31,8 Average Dmg in PvE : 106+(0,15*57,77)= 114,66 =+ 14,66% Average Dmg in PvP: 106 +(0,15*30,9)=110,63 = 10,64% Hibenosa Legendary Alchemist and Infiltrator 50

Meanwhile I tested it:
The base chance to critically hit with a DD spell is 10% in regards of all DD spells that you succesfully finish to cast, i.e. independently if you actually deal dmg with a spell or if the target resists the spell. |

Power Drain depends on level of the mob you drain power from. A level 50 mob gives 50 power, a lvl 45 mob gives 45 power, a lvl 55 mob gives 55 power. A level 30 mob only 30 power. At SI release, it was different, yes, there you could go from 0 - 100 with a lucky crit that killed the mob. Even off grey mobs. Albion Forever!

Did you do real testing or just work it out on paper... I suspect MOM and Wild Power do not affect pet casted spells the way we expect them to just because it's a necromancer pet. I also suspect a lot of the RA's dont transfer to pet casted spells but I'm not gonna farm 100p for RR respec stones to find out.

100p? Stones are dirt cheap. |

I hadn't looked for stones since the dragons were broken and not passing them out so I figured they were still like 15p a piece.
Really, we should get some clarification on what gets transferred for sure from the staff... there is no way to really test some of this since we don't get hard numbers on casting time/ absorbed damage and pet hp. Testing abs damage is damn near impossible because it just gives a "enemy did x damage" and it varies so much there's no way to tell what was absorbed and what was just variance. Also, you don't get an HP count for your pet so there no way to tell if that con buff added hit points or abs... ect. Casting time can only be approximated... again, hard to test if you dont get solid numbers. |

sorry for semi-necro (ha...ha...), but while your guys math seems correct it doesnt actually mean much.
let me explain why. every single DS-farmer out there should be analyzing their most frequently used farm spots and decide using that data if higher MOM or WP is more desireable. necro A farms at spot A most of the time --> the mobs there usually take 3 nukes before getting into melee range with 5% hp left and need 1 more lifetap to be finished off. --> necro A would benefit more from higher MOM because it would enable him to constantly powertap gatlinggun-mode = higher gold/min necro B farms at spot B most of the time --> the mobs there are guaranteed to survive the powertaps unless he gets lucky and is critting hard. --> necro B would benefit more from higher WP because of the increased chance of avoiding melee = higher gold/min just 2 basic examples here but i think you get my point. as always just my 2 cents. |
