Should it be maxed for end-game RvR ?
What does it do, anyway ? Never ask permission when you can beg forgiveness later.

The only thing piety does for a Paladin is increase their power pool. The only thing Paladins use power for is their endurance chant, combined resist chants, and ressurection. However you should note these chants don't take power when activated, only on subsequent pulses. This makes it so that if you are twisting chants (which you should) they will not consume any of your power. Ressurection, on the other hand, takes away a percentage of your power based on your level compared to your target's level, so increasing your piety is irrelevant to its power cost.
All this is to say piety is completely useless for Paladins. Unless you are too lazy to twist your chants in combat, there is no benefit to increasing your power pool. In fact, it might work against you by increasing the overall amount of power taken by ressurection, and so increasing the amount of time it takes for your power to regenerate high enough for the next cast of ressurection (but I haven't actually tested this, so perhaps it works out differently in game). |

Wrong. Percentage costs on spells are a percentage of BASE power. With additional piety and power pool bonuses, they cost less percentage of your TOTAL power.

Rez is 50% power....regardless. Ive had 75 piety with +25 power. Still takes 50% to rez Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk |

Percentage cost means percentage of your base power unless it says the otherwise. That's why you don't ignore intel on theu templates. More int and power doesn't increase their pet costs. I just did some tests.
Cleric cure cost is 6%; cap piety and no power = 5% (I'm sure with power it would drop too) Cabalist simulacrum cost is 25%; No power, no int, no focus = %30 cap power and int, no focus = %25 (the focus formula should be wrong since it doesn't cost more than the tooltip with no focus) cap power, int and focus = 16% Theurgist level 7 pet cost is 12%; no power, no int, no focus = %14 some power and int (not cap), no focus = %12 some int, power and focus = %10 Ofcourse there are some exceptions like savage buffs. They cost a percentage of your TOTAL health. MCL restores a percentage of your TOTAL power. |
