Anyone know if BD's are wanted in groups for 8 man setups?

Sometimes as a rupter... depends on the group-setup.

With old RAs BD is not really must have.

useless unique RA
no TWF
no PD
not special commander pets

so you are left with a caster that doesnt bring much utility to the group.

If you have one slot for a caster, it has to be an RM. If you play with more than one caster, I could see a hybrid setup like:
[HHSSk Wa Zk RM BD] work out.

Question is why deviate from same-old-same-old [HHHSSk Svg Svg X] which works retardedly good. Midgard doesnt have to play casters at all to be successful, and is prolly weaker in a hybrid setup at this patch level due to missing the instant spam they got in later patch levels.

Debuffing root duration on Uth 1.0 = pewpew. But with the turbo fights of old RA those extra seconds might not be needed and a damage debuffing RM could be way better. Keep it simple stupid :)
I would go for RM it will be way easier to be usefull for your grp, BD is more a niche char for special setups.

A good BD can rupt 3 Peeps, if pets will work correct.
So the lost RA's aren t rearly important.
VS. "Tank Set Up Hib or Alb", which rearly happens, the bd will be useless, agree.
