So I plan on going 50 shield , 50 axe rest parry. Would it be better for me to put +11 Parry instead of +11 shield in my template? I don't have a ton of gold so I have to use what I've got which means either or and not both.

I know most will say Hammer because of less resists. I happen to like Axe so I'm sticking with it.

And better anytime, hammer's one uses very low endu.
But back to topic, I think, +shield would be better.

Just go Hammer.

A warrior unable to peel is a liability.

Like others have said, maximizing your shield is much more important that parry. +Shield not only increases your block rate, but also your shield style damage, to-hit rates, overall defense penetration, and the effectiveness of your Guard. Parry, on the other hand only increases your parry rate.

If you just want to PvE, zerg, and raid keeps on your Warrior, Axe will be fine. You only really need to spec Hammer if you want to 8v8.

For Axe its better to have +Shield.
For Hammer its better to have +Parry.

Anyway w/e the level + Shield or +Parry give +0.5% per level.

I'll never drop below 50 shield on my warrior. You're crazy if you think it's worth increasing parry from 28 to 39 (not 41 unless you fully AT to level 44) at the cost of those final 8 shield points. Your best utility on a warrior is the strength of your shield defense. I'd rather spec 50 points into thrown weapons. Especially since most warriors play a troll, your lower base dex makes it almost necessary. Don't listen to the noobs indeed.

It really depends on your role in a 8v8 situation.
If you are on the assist train, if you are the guard bot, or if you are a CC artist

I give 3 builds for 3L0

Assist Train build: (max DMG and slam)
50 Sword 42 Shield 37 hammer 22 Parry

Guard Bot: (max survivability and your level in weapon)
50 Shield 46 Parry 37 Hammer

CC Artist: (max shield and weapon weaponskill for slam and snare)
50 Hammer 50 Shield 31 Parry

While leveling shield vs parry depends on your weapon line of choice (parry being better for axe build), at 50 it will be shield over parry.
In RvR it will always be shield before parry.

What is about no parry at all as it is completely worthless in Group RvR? If the enemy is seriously driving the melee-train over the 50 shield warrior, you should be very thankful for that! It doesn't have to be addressed in your spec.
