Hello there!

I'm playing Uthgard for some days now, started out as Animist because i enjoyed the class earlier. I knew there is no SI content, but it didnt bother me at first, now im lvl30 and still use a random lvl10 staff without focus on it.

So besides getting a staff from a merchant (which is quite expensive) and farming seals in DF, are there other options to obtain a Staff with decent focus?

Since i haven't seen much about it in the forums, maybe we can get all staffs together here which are non-SI.

The only staff drops i know of for ani are 40 focus single line from deamhan hounds. Other than that there is a named sheeroe mob that drops a level 50 one. (Bioran or something).

The level 15 or 20 epic quest gives a good staff as reward - also found a nice creeping focus staff in the Koalinth Caverns but it seems kinda rare.

You are right though, outside of SI it doesn't seem like there's many besides DF or a couple high level drops

My ani is level 50 and still using the best vendor staff available for creeping focus, I bought an arb staff from diamond vendor in DF. There are not a lot of options for us due to lack of SI and low drops at the top. There is one staff that drops with 50 focus on all spec lines for us and it is in Sheeroe Hills which requires a solid group to farm, also heard it is a stupidly low drop chance + it can drop with focus for other classes on it. All in all we are probably going to primarily rely on a crafted staff w/ SC on it for multiple focus lines on our first characters come live, and while leveling? Well, I used the vendor staff for 20-50, so that tells you something.

I've heard that spellcrafting at this patch level no longer makes focus gems - so we're stuck farming until SI :)

So there's no animist focus staffs you can purchase at a regular vendor (not including Darkness Falls)?

Would be nice to have some confirmation on not being to add focus on your staff. Isn't 1.65 a great patch lol.

you can add focus to your staff separately for each line, no all lines focus gems in 1.65

Creep Ani can do low level pet spam, with the lvl4 creep staff(that you get from trainer for free).

So i assume you can do this until you r 50 and then you can just craft a better staff for other stuff.

Cost 0 gold, i win the gear planning race !

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't the lvl4 focus staff not affect the lvl5 forest heart spell? Or does it affect but just not 100%?

The staff merchant in the Magician hall in TNN sells animist staves.

I have crafted staff with arboreal and creeping 50 focus.

SC'ers make +50 focus gems that only cost one imbue point each...so you can run three +50 focus lines and like +17% to a resist on top of it.

In my opinion each animist got 2 choices so far:
1) use a crafted staff and put 1-3 lvl 50 focus on it
2) Coille Bioran (from Sheeroe Hills) with DPS: 16.20
Delay: 3.00
Magical Bonuses:
Intelligence: 42 pts
Focus Bonuses:
Arborial Mastery: +50 lvls
Creeping Path Spec: +50 lvls
Verdant Path: +50 lvls
