I can't decide what to put my starting points into for my Firbolg Warden. I'll be doing PvE, and when I'm in RvR, I'll be grouped. Not planning to spec as a solo warden. Here is the starting stats (Empathy used for spells btw):

STR 90
CON 60
DEX 40
QUI 40
INT 60
PIE 60
EMP 70
CHA 60

I know for sure that I want 10 DEX and 10 CON. Should I go with the remaining 10 in STR or EMP since I'll be doing some healing in groups? I'm leaning toward STR since I would usually just be a backup healer (something like 20-26 Regrowth spec) and EMP already starts at 70.

EMP will not do you any good. it increases afaik mana and conc, but for a miniscule ammount.

Str is nice, if you want do do propper damage, but you are on a healer weaponskill table, so at least str is not that powerfull too.

You might wanna think about your role in a grp. You are a backup healer, and if u dont do that, you are passiveley giving bonusses (PBT+Resist) and interrupting casters/snaring (blade sidestyle) tanks.

To do that task dex con and qui serve you best

dex to heal faster/spam single PBT, con to survive, and qui to hit faster, so u can interrupt and snare more effectively.

to be honest, i played a firby warden at that level and a similar patch state, and i went 44 blunt 45 nature rest parry. Damage was cool for me, but in retrospect i was a complete gimp :)

If u wanna maximize your utility, follow the above, i wouldnt want to do it now. Play a warden if you want to be a pain in the enemys but.

If you go Firbolg your starting stats wont matter since you will be a gimp anyway 8)

Blahh I'm not going Celt, they're too small and not intimidating like a firby!

I don't like to spend points in QUI.. only on a pure melee character I would consider that. I would rather put 5 more points into DEX or something. Are you really sure the Warden is on a healer weaponskill table? I thought it was just a hybrid one..

OK, and here's another question:

I know that it's good to have a 51 composite weapon spec.. but how bad would it be if i dropped blades down to 33 spec so I could bump up regrowth to get a better heal? How much would those few points below 51 composite gimp me?

Comp weapon spec is important for secondary weapon lines which are not used for styles but serve as base damage. Examples are thrust/slash/crush for armsmen using polearms, sword/axe for LA SBs etc. In these cases, going above comp spec 51 has no benefit (because they only increase base damage).

For primary lines, damage increases even after 51 comp spec, plus there are benefits of styles ofc.

Haha, sorry, I am appreciative, really. I just didn't expect anyone to suggest QUI at all, I just can't do that!

As others mentioned above,- I would suggest you don ´t pick firb if you wanna go groups rvr, due to his dex problem your cast are way too sloooooow because firbolg is slooooow in acting and thinking ,-) .
If you plan on solo rvr,- firb would be ok, but if you change your mind and want be more viable for groups you still hang around with this big, sloooow , ugly guy :( . you should pick and play whatever you want, but you should consider not being taken by rvr groups then.

Not being taken in groups because I lack 20 DEX? Please, I really hope that people won't be that shallow this time around. I don't plan to group RvR ALL of the time, I might consider switching to a solo spec at some point, and I'll be playing some PvE raiding and stuff too. I want that 30 str bonus so I can at least hit decently, I know I am on a bad weaponskill table but the STR should help a little right?

Why do you even ask if your mind is already set? Face it as a firbolg u ll wait at ligen trying to get grps. If you want to GRP rvr the only choise is Celt.easy as that.
