Playing different realms

Is it possible to play on more than one realm with the same account? I don't think I've ever tried before on the live servers, but I am unsure with my spotty memory..
If thats not possible, is it considered OK to make a secondary account for the purpose of playing a different realm ?  |

Its not, but you can freely create new accounts as often as you want to. Just take care, those chars on different accs beeing higher then lvl 10, there could be some "cleanings" in the future^^.
