i'm lvl 800 armorcrafter and in need of cloth and leather linings for chain and plate armor.

can i salvage the linings? or do ihave to buy new time after time?

started tailoring but realized that i have to be 1000+ in armorcraft befor i can make lvl 30+ linings and never can get tailoring above 75% so stopped putting gold and time into tailor.

seems you need two chars to make good plate or find someone to work together...

You won't like to hear it but linings cannot be salvaged. And as you realized it doesn't make much sense to try to get your off-skills to a decent level since it is capped at a point where it's of little use for your main skill. You correctly identified the three possibilities:

1. Ask another player to help you out with the material you are missing
2. Buy the material you need from NPC merchants (although this will be more expensive than the average PC crafter will charge you)
3. 2 chars - 2 craft skills (costs quite a lot money and time and still leaves the problem of getting the material from one to the other)

PS: The first posting in this thread is still valid! (Well, at least most of it since you probably can't call me new anymore. )

buy from NPC could be a solution but i can't find any NPC who sells the things i need, not even leather armor i need to make lvl 30 chain

hmmmm could explain you in french but not in english...

the piece you need is not the one that is in the list (leather, metal bars,... "doublure" (french name, don't remember the english one))

in fact "doublure" is not implemanted so you have to take the leather armor piece equivalent

(hmmmm I even not can understand what i would mean lol)

ex: if you want to do a chian glove and you need a eldricht "doublure" in place of that you use eldricht leather glove.

but i ran trough camelot city and none of the NPC sells the stuff i need, i know i can use the leather armor instead of the "doublures" or linings but they don't sell stuff that is high enough lvl, if i need siluric or roman i cant find it, or can i use just simple cloth or leather without it beeing the right kind?

Well, then it seems as if you are dependend on other players. (Maybe that's why it's called multi-player game...)

you just need to level your crafting...? craft with reinforced you dont need anything... if you want to craft an armor ask a tailor, i think you have no other choice.
