Greetings guys, I am new to the server, as well as to the game DAOC, i am eager to play it but i'll need some answers before i do this...so, please anyone who can help me take a look at my simple questions

1.I didn't get a clear idea what i have to download...although i read all the tutorials/FAQs etc..So...i have to download the game, this is OK...but the patches/expansions i didn't get what to download first,second and what is required to play with...my questions here is: do I have to download all these http://www.darkageofcamelot.com/expansions/ if yes/no which ones should i download and install and please write it like this, first, second...and...as far as i understood i must install the expansions after i have installed my game ( without any other things installed ) and after that the Launcher for the server, right?

2.My PC specifics are Celeron processor on 3.2 Ghz with 512 Mb RAM, a 64 mb GeForce video card and a 100 Gb hard disc, do you think i may have troubles playing the game or no?

NOTE: i have a 3-4 years experience of playing MMORPGS, especially WOW and LA2...i didn't have any Problems there...but i better ask

I hope there is someone that can explain me how exactly to do the installions, thanks in advance!

Imho Daoc has higher requirements than L2 or WoW , my brothers played both and dont have any technical problems while i am having constant problems with daoc

You need Trial of atlantis , other expansion you can have but they arent nessesary , higher expansion - higher requirements

so....now i install the game, after that The Trial of Atlantis expansion and then the Catacombs expansion...after that the Server Launcher and i am done, right?


P.S. And...what about the Shrouded Islands expansion? does the server require it? or just unnecessary addon ?

Shrouded Isles is already part of the higher expansions. No need to install it separately.

OK....let me tell what's the situation with me...

I have the game on my PC...freshly downloaded
I did this thing:
Mythic Patch
193.252.123.21:1280/updates/english/atlantis/mpatch.dat

(editted the update file in my game directory and waited until the update was done...now i have the newest client, according to the admin, right?)

so...as far as i see the next step is to set up the server launcher...OK...i have it in a separate folder called Loader which is inside my DAOC folder...where the game.dll is situated...now i must modify the "connect" file, but i don't know how...when i open it the game loads and nothing happens...it starts connecting somewhere and keeps showing retrying retrying...i guess this is because i haven't modifyed the server IP and the other things...so i will need some help with this thing...

Thanks to anyone that will answer...and please tell me if i have done something wrong with the above things

Right-click and Edit. Alternatively, start an editor (such as Notepad) and load connect.bat. You will see it after selecting All files (*.*) as file type.

T-man i must ask you for help once again... i did what it is said in the help topics...but i am afraid i did something wrong editting that connect.bat file...so if you just tell me what's not OK i will be very thankful and finally enter the game

DOLLoader game.dll 192.168.0.1 10300 forgot_to edit_connect_bat

when i double click the connect.bat i enter the game ...on the screen appears loading...and in a few seconds establishing connection with...some sockets are opened and then keeps saying retrying retrying serveral times and in the end it says Service Not Available :S what should i do? Please..help me

The IP 192.168.0.1 is surely not Uthgard
Your mistake is that you wrote all the information into the comment section instead the real command at the bottom.

yeah i found that out too...after 2-3 hours of thinking how to solve this "riddle" lol....
