Wow this game is confusing, I don't even know how to talk to NPCs for quests lol
The game looks exactally like Elder Scrolls: Morrowind

I just want to make sure that I did things right

I downloaded..
- the 14 day trial of DAoC (shrouded isles?)
- catacombs
- darkness rising
- the Uthgard launcher
^ all on the U.S. site I'm pretty sure

I set the launcher to launch the Darkness Rising folder. is that correct?

anyways I just made a fighter/half-ogre on Albion because I have no idea about any of this game's classes/races

If someone could help me in game that would be great :D
Char name is the same as my forum name

Hello Jae, and welcome to Uthgard and to Albion specifically.

Since you have made your char already I'm pretty sure that you did everything right regarding your daoc-installation.

Ingame, just ask in the guild channel. You are a member of the splendid Albion Starter Guild called 'Defenders of Albion'. A really fine guild it is. So, whether you need some company, help with a quest (visit Frederick at the Cotswald tower for some nice starter quests and good xp) or whatever, click the 'guild' tab, hit enter to open the chatline, and ask away. Btw you talk to NPCs by just rightclicking them. Other than Morrowind NPCs, not all have something to say, though. Try those that are marked 'merchant' or those with a yellow circle around their feet, the latter are questgivers. You're going to find out how it all works, I'm sure.

Additionally, you can always challenge our advisors to help you out by typing '/advice your question here'.

If you see a green-colored Wizard named Loming around, make sure you ask him for some help as well. He usually has some nice stuff in stock to hand down to newbies. Or, ask the other weirdo in our Defender Guild, which would be me. Sometimes I do the same.

Have a good start and lots of fun!

If you are completely clueless maybe you want to take a look at this manual? This site also has lots of information (such as guides, race and class descriptions, etc.).
Happy hunting!
