So retarded lag problem volume 4

On monday, I tried to play DAOC at the time of 3:45

I found it was very laggy

It got increasingly laggy until 4:30, where I started getting HUGE lag spikes, and then LDing, and rarely being able to reconnect for another 15 minutes. After this 15 minutes, I was unable to connect.

This happened again on tuesday, wednesday (But I found a period then when I could play with absolutely no lag, around 4:15~5 but the time doesnt matter, I could just play then. I think restarded my computer and I couldnt connect) It happened again today, but I managed to stay connected for a longer time.

I have tried:

Rebooting router multiple times

Disabling each of the two firewalls (SPI and NAT) on my router (mutually exclusive, not at the same time)

Disabling my windows firewall

Turning off other programs

Nobody else on my LAN is downloading


And also, Xfire is not working, Another mmorpg (.....maplestory) is not working. FPS games are fine....

well what ive found in my years of daocing is that, compared to other online games, daoc is very very sensitive even to the smallest of lagspikes in ur connection....
my m8 once had the same issue....all games work fine...but daoc constantly LDs....
tho he didnt have lags like u talk of em....but mmm so ur saying u dont get lags or choke etc. in fps games ?
ur pingtimes in a long run are fine aswell ?

did you update 1.89? (and not 1.9 ) if yes, play with ToA it should be better

pana,u cant play with toa anymore. 1.89 toa support got kicked and dr is now minimum supported. if u change ur update.dat to toa, it will get rechanged by camelot.exe to at least dr.

well darkref im starting to feel this is more in ur ISP area....
tryr pinging some german site when u get lags ingame...
i once had same ******, pings to like germany and rest of EU were fine,but the server tat was in norway,lagged like hellish,tho others were fine

WHen I ping with pingplotter, there is nothing, ping is 40 and only a few signs of normal packet loss

@danger so explain me how i can play on uthgard with ToA?

@darkref so DL ToA .... anyway i think that anybody that wanna play better in rvr should use ToA... yeah i know DR is more beautifull etc... but you need much more powerfull computer. and anyway you ll still have lags when lot of enemies around

as i heard today, its possible to get toa patched,but i dont know how yet so,all infos i got,ive taken from this forums. so if u can play with toa and 1.89,just tell me how.

Hm it may cause lag but I doubt it will completely block me from the game

If xfire isnt working, usually DAOC isnt working. If daoc isnt working, xfire usually isnt working

It seems I cant connect at the busiest times of the day (4~midnight) . I could this morning, but it seems the problem has gone for today.

It lags from 2/3 ~4/5, then after that I cant connect (service not avaliable). Then its probably like that until 12 or something, then lags till about 2 (im guessing) then its fine until 2/3 again.

Please visit sometimes the providers homepage, all those 4 clients are downloadable, and work fine

I have fresh copy of ToA 1.89 and DR 1.89 - both work & no lag spikes

Tried, nothing there

ping is always 40, just a few signs of packet loss but thats normal
