I am growing frustrated these days. I LD out of nowhere. I am not experiencing that much lag yet I LD. It happens quite often and I can be in the middle of combat and everything. Normally one would not be able to /dance etc. just prior to an LD but for me it just comes out of the blue.

Been playing on Zeek lately if that is of any help

If you are running daoc you might check running backround programs e.g msn, icq, irc, torrents and such.

LD - if you dont loose connection with net, its just server dump for very low connection.

Try to ping uth server with START --> RUN ----> CMD ---> ping <uth gameserver ip> use it when you have daoc running.

I am on a 20mbit connection and have been working with computers since 1980. Working with broadband connections for a living

Have been trying to ping the server which doesn't tell me anything apart from the responcetime vary slightly.

did try ping ip -t for about 30 mins.

This is totally unprovoked. I don't feel lag yet am LD anyways.

Edit: Doesn't matter whether I am running MSN or not. Tried shutting the lot down too btw.

Have you got a dual-core processor?
If yes, limit DAoC to one core on startup.

Most processor manufacturers released patches for the CPU driver that fixes
that bug in the meanwhile. Just check your manufacturers homepage.

Am using a dual-core yes, and should be using the latest driver and the fix from Mickey$not. However, I will definitely give it a go =).
