The reason there is no other name like this in this game is because it is UNIQUE. Personally you name does not make much sense to me. Also, my name is not something like "llllllllll" it is "MrMadBird". If you don't like the fact that my name does not make sense to YOU, mabey you should ask me about YOUR name? If you think it looks like a bunch of repeating characters mabey you should allow spaces in names or allow multiple capital letters. I don't think that you should be the "silly" judge here, as there are many varying opinions about what "silly" actually is. Your rules never even specified what "silly" was, mabey you should write guidelines to "silly" so that we do not name ourselves in a "silly" manner. The rules that I supposedly broke did not specify that I could not put a title in my name either.(like Mr.)

this name aint nothing compared to some others here on the server.
just look through the herald you find much worse names than this one^^

sure this name is silly but it's unfair to change this name while there are so many way more silly named chars are running around.

or ... since you are allowed 19 Character Names ....

I would like a very strict name policy introduced, but its far too late for that since several 50s are running around with more or less questionable names.
Too much work, too many people upset, too much discussion, so it just stays like it is and every now and then some people get renamed.

Most of the realy bad names are level 1-5 anyway, i met a level 5 called "Anal" yesterday. Made me wonder what wonderful combinations with lastnames he had in mind when creating this Char.

Luckyly 98% of the following examples i found on the herald are level 1-5 and not played at all i guess:

*bomb* - 18 Names
*pwn* - 20
*omg* - 8
*wtf* - 7
******** - 7
*killer* - 30
*bot* - 28

i think the name is not important till it's not unfriendly...

i think i won't be upset to read " you got killed by IpwnU"

but it's more sad to read things like" you got killed by gerbald, gerbald laught at you"

there are guys that have silly name (following some people) and there are guys that are silly(following other people)

From the last few days leveling my Enchanter in Emain, i remembera level 50 Infiltrator, who repeatedly came and gave free RPs to the full level group, i cant remember his exact name though, too many Iiiillls.
Just a few hours ago around midnight at the Shrooms he had to use vanish to barely survive when we were about to call it a night, but he died before at the Wyrms ...
I made RR2 on him when i was 44 and i will be 2L5 thanks to him and his buddies before i hit 50 i guess.
Cant be you though, you would not do that you said ...

no prob it's fair some RP gift to get 50 000 RPs in few days...

but you'll get easier to recognize us we got renamed pffff...

Its up to the GMs to decide.
But i guess they leave people alone until someone complains abaout a name or you get unwanted attention through other channels, like maybe this Forum.
Then they check and decide if the name is bad enough to change it.

I dont mind if you keep your name.

but i'm not ok with reactions on whining players... GM's changing names of players that reached lvl 50????? they where online for months and you let them be, now some guy starts to whine about something and the big cleaning begins...

sorry if i sound hard but isn't there a lot of other work to do? this smells like: let's make them think we do our job well and take the easy tasks that everybody notices....

let's be honest, if a player reaches lvl 30 with a name, he should be sure to keep his name, he played for days oe weeks with that name and nobody argued abouth it... just because some player starts the discussion now everybody is a target for name change... this is sad...

save your time for important stuff and stay away from chars you ignored for weeks or months...

i had my main char for 11 months now, maybe someone will whine abouth my name and tomorrow i log in and loose my identity???
get real, just change your rules and put in them that a char that reaches lvl 30 or even 40 will stay un touched...

think abouth the person behind the char, he invested numerous hours to lvl it, don't just play god and take his identity away after all that time, you got plenty of time to do it before..;

not GMs but a GM. others where totaly agree with that names... but anyway it's not a problem... oki our name were not really according to the rules. it was just tactical. and even if maybe we wouldn't have our name changed on an other way, I anderstand kazuki don't want to rename us back with this name.

anyway, playing on hib i saw lot of people knew i was archi was Ilili my stealther Illll and even my scout Iilil... so if they took attention at name they could know how many we are...

now we'll be back as archachin panachachin and ... agravain (pfff you suck) will be a bit more easy to recognize but not to invite for non-french players.

I tend to agree with monty.

It get's a bad flavour if names are changed just because other people demand the change, more than ever if these are chars being 50 for a long time with no one caring about their names.

Do not get me wrong, i personally do not like the Illlll names (sorry @pana), but that's my personal view of things.

But as i said, there are lots of worse names here on uthgard. I could point out half a dozend names here without using the database - and no i won't do it, since i do not think it is my job or place to do so.

Just think about i once more. Opening up the name changing thing to other peoples claims is the wrong way...

Just think about a system for the name changes that is transparent, neutral and reliable.

That's my two cents on the matter.
