I just don't really get why lagging through an opponent to give him a backstun while he /face you should be a legal movement.

Question is just how to avoid this. Afaik only few players use this (besides is it a bug that you can be given sidestyles while walking backwards with a player sticking you?) and i don't really think it's fixable cause it pretends on server/connection-lags and is mostly user-computer-dependant.

Never heard of that being able to stun while walking backwards off a sticked
player. Think it's just a client<->server lag issue. And to be honest Thraxia.
Blaming players performing live-legal movement isn't the right way to solve
that problem. Ever watched a player that strafes (FWD+LEFT) in a circle?
It is insane that even if you are alone (1viewing) this causes some lagrun.
The server seems just not to be fast enough to send player-position updates.
Another possible solution would be to take a look into DOL code and check
out the timer for positional updates of players. I believe there could be something
wrong.

However, you can at almost 100% avoid being strafed and about all other
lag-issues. Get the community to pay 1-2 bucks and the staff is able to
upgrade the server for better performance. It is just ridicolous to complain
about a hardware maybe code issue which you can avoid oO

Did I already say avoid? No? You can avoid it! K maybe a last time for those
who still don't know...you can avoid getting strafed. Hmm somehow I'm
not sure if everyone got it so...no really for the last time.
YOU CAN WTFAVOID GETTING STRAFED. kkthxbye oO

Sethor is blowing smoke.
He knows how to use game mechanics and he does it.
Then he comes to the forum and denies it can be done, so nothing is done against it.

But of course he will reply "ZOMG, Gerbald is lying" :P
I could care more, i guess, but i dont ...

Currently I'm neither using nor abusing any DAoC gamemachanics.
Sometimes I log in and have some fun with my Darkness Runemaster.
Rest of the time I spend in EvE online...big ballz PvP with actual losses
and more responsibility ingame to the players. And the best...whining
people like you, Gerbald get in forums flamed to hell and not even the
Mod's care about it, because they know that call911-whiners deserve
to get flamed :P

And tbh, if I wanted to abuse gamemechanics or 3rd party tools on
Uthgard I would have already done it, but fortunately I tend to play
fair, can live with and accept the gamemechanics and do not tend to
cry about them like you, Gerbald.

Excuse me, but I just fielded reasonable arguments and gave tips on how
to avoid getting strafed. This was followed by almost personal insults by
Gerbald who actually called me something like a gamemechanics-abusing
cheater. And now I get badmouthed by almighty Razzer for defending myself
due to Mods incompetence of deleting Gerbalds flamebaits? O rly thats great.

And tbh this is the first topic over a long time where Gerbald and me were
performing some "mouth-jousting". Thats by far not as sick, sad, bad, ill or
whatever as you tend to say.

i think just state telling it s forbiden.

and if people do that jail them.

the one who are abusing lag are wellknown. it s easy to record them.

by the way there is another lag abuse that i found funny...

was following a stealther and was lag jumping away from me and so restealth.

i suppose used alt tab to go back on windows and so stealth when come back on daoc...

i don't know if it's allowed, but if it s. it should be allowed to go upstairs at the DF enemy entrance and kill them there. can i do that? :D tell me yes please

Any form of lagjumping lagstrafing whatever is a bug abuse , jail or even ban afaik

I still dont get 'you are strafing in combat and miss' messages...

Afaik , the topic can be closed, its a bug that wont be stopped abusing ..

Its up to the players mind to lower himself to cheating or not ...

All I want to say is: Play the game as it should be played

hmm, i remeber leveling in Df, a well known ennemy players passes us, direction alb entrance, a few minutes later he passes us again, flying allmost at the sealing of the room, very fast and high untill he dissapers uot of sight into the next room... slowly folowed by a bunch of albs trying to chase him on foot...

i saw him do this more then once, maybe 3 times that day...

never understood how he did it, but he escaped every time and managed to kill most of the albs one by one, out of my sight....

if this is not bugusing, i would be glad to know how to do it

Well the casual strafing "button FWD + SIDEWARD" should never be stated
as abuse, exploit or whatever. It just isn't. What you guys are talking about -
players who lagjump through walls and so on - is on the other hand a clear
abuse and thatfor should be punished --> ban
These lagjump players abuse the chatwindow-resize-lagploit, meaning that
there will be created ingame lag for you if you resize your chatwindow making
you able to jump extremely high and lag out of range/view.
Thats an obvious exploit which can NOT be avoided.
