1.87

Shield

- A character's chance to block will no longer be penalized when facing a character who is dual wielding.

Parry

- A character's chance to Parry will no longer be penalized when facing a character who is wielding a two handed weapon.

- The penalty to parry when facing multiple attackers has been greatly reduced.

Evade

- A character's chance to evade will no longer be penalized when facing a character who is dual wielding.

------------------

So in 1.87 they removed all penalties which result from a type of weapon.
I never heard of dual wield halving parry, that's not a proof but why should they keep this and remove all others in 1.87?

Indeed good point, says nothing about Dw how it should not halve parry anymore.

If you don't believe it, test it. Dual wield should not halve parry, there is no proof of it anywhere. The fix was justified.

It really takes a special person to think that's normal for Dual Wield to halve everything: Block, Evade and Parry.

Frankly I find it hard to belive that there is such a long ongoing arguement about whether or not dual wield should halve parry. Both patch notes and grab bag clarly show mythic's intent regarding this pre-1.87.

The fix has been inplimented (correct?) and that appears, in the lack of further evidence supporting dual weild halving parry, to be that.

The issue which needs addressing now is that of two handed damage vs one handed damage. I would say the best way to do so would be to attack the same target unstyled with a character with the same spec level in both one hand and two hand weapons (ie: a warrior) and using weapons with the same quality and condition and no stat bonuses at least 1000 times each both on live and Uthgard, then compare the results.

Fairly simple and straightforward. I would do it myself as I have a 50 warrior on live, but I don't want to spend $15 just to test this if there is already someone with an active account who can do so. I also have no high levels on Uthgard as yet so someone else will have to step up to test here.
