Upon opening freeshards launcher this error window appears, and continues appearing in multiple windows when the Launcher is kept open.


"Acess violation at address 004A2173 in module 'Launcher.exe'. Read of address 0000000A"

The launcher is installed in a "Launcher" folder in the "Isles" game folder of a fresh install of Mythics recent 14-day trial (complete with SI expansion and catacombs graphics I think???). I have not updated through Mythic at all yet.

Any idea what could be hanging the launcher like this??

Also, when I ignore the error box and attempt to login to Uthgard I get a new error window

"DOLLloader ERROR
Your client seems to be unsupported!
Check for a newer loader version or post a support message on the forum"

This IS the newest freeshards launcher version from daoc-launcher.tk
so I know it must be something else.

Can anybody help me out here, this is really aggravating...

Your Launcher is totally out-dated

Use this one:

Looking at the News section of daoc-launcher.tk might have given you the clue that the last update of the launcher has been done almost 2 years ago. Actually, Kendor has long stopped supporting his launcher. Since then several live updates have brought code which this launcher simply doesn't recognize anymore... Luckily, there are other (more up-to-date) possibilities - as Kazuki has pointed out.
