Hey all-

I played DAoC live for about 4 years and have built and customized about 9 good RVR characters in Mid and Hib on 4 of the U.S. servers. I have never played on a shard before and decided to build a Dark Runemaster to replace my favorite mid character from back in the day.

I just wanted to stop in and see if anyone has any advice regarding leveling in Uthgard. I am only level 4 so far (only been 1 hour /played...if that) and I am concerned about:

1. Population to level with
2. Places to level myself
3. Overall activity in the server.

Obviously, you all play here because you like it. I guess I just felt like asking what specifically you all like the best.

Thanks!

-Siignal (lvl 4 mystic)

Hello and welcome aboard (uthgard),

I think until level 20 gonna be quick, and with luck and help of broadcast (/b is dedicated to level range over each realm except in main city) message you can find group to go.
You can do also all the starting quest to have a quite good stuff to start and save some gold to buy suff (like focus staff, you can also bother crafter in jordheim to help you).
Another point is the xp bonus from rvr zone, that will help you, if your realm mate work on keep claiming.

Since you reach level 20 to 30 you can start to go braemar, and start to make more friends. (Even if a great parts are twink).
If i can give you an advice, stay as long as you can to gather the most arpee and reach 2L0, or until you get definitly bored of Braemar.
It's a place where there is the most activity, in my opinion.

When you reach lvl 31, same as in braemar, but in Wilton. Way less populated but still have some activity, same advice as before, stay as long as you can handle this zone.

Finally when you gonna leave Wilton (if you went there) things gonna start to be a bit harder.

What will follow will probably answer another question, Uthgard got only classic zone mapped with mob (dungeon and df include). And of course the item related.
So, at this point there is lot of chance you joined a midgard guild and being inside the midgard alliance.

It will be now "easy" to get group and go for xp, but start now the hardest way, the way to 50. You will mostly play over malm, spindel and Emain while midgard got the keep to benefit the high xp bonus in Emain, but you will have to face any enemy gonna try to kill you.

At last to answer the final question, the overall activity is around 150/200 ppl logged (at european time) all level mixed.

The most acivity is around lvl 25 to 45, with during the day some raid in emain. But not like on live, there is not constant moves, and there can be 5 ppl in emain (all realm) during 4 or 5 hours in most populated time.

Enjoy (again?) in Midgard, take it easy and have fun in Uthgard.

Regards,

Pirith.
