Hello, I'm new here, and I want to download DaoC to play on this server. I read the instructions, but hope someone can answer a few questions. In the tutorial, there are two versions mentioned the European and US version. Which one would really be better? Which one works better with the emulator? Do I have to install Catacombs then Darkness Rising, or can I just download Darkness Rising?

it doesnt matter if you play with the european or the us version.
there are only problems with the german version like cant climb walls or reply with the "r" button.
isn't darkness rising just an addon?
not sure but you have to download at least 2,5 gig

Darkness Rising is an unnecessary AddOn. Catacombs or even ToA would be enough.

I'd recommend to play with Catacombs since DR uses twice as many hardware resources and the game will definitely lag more often.

If you really want to have Darkness Rising you can also find a direct installer for it. If you want to stick to Catacombs (1GB less to download!) for the beginning then you can add Darkness Rising later via update. The plus of Darkness Rising are better graphics in some parts of the game - the drawback is that it requires a lot more system resources all the time! Hope this helps...
