hello all

havent played for a long time and basicly havent really used my computer

now i decided i wanted to play a little again so i tried to install .net framework 2.0 but i got into a problem.

it stopped installing when i got this error:

error 25015. the assembly 'C:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.05727\microsoft.Visualbasic.vsa.dll was not installed because of a systemerror 0x80131107

ive tried google both errors and tried the solutions but did not help

now i turn to you, does anyone know how to get this done?

would love to get back to daoc again in a more casual way than before though

i got 1.0 installed but i thought i needed that to install 2.0?

Okay, here we go.

[1] Generally this error means that .NET Framework is already installed. However, if you feel you need to update, or reinstall, continue to #2.
[2] The installation creates a log file in your Temp folder (under Documents and Settings\Your name...). Locating this file may give us some insight into your problem. Might also check your Event Viewer in Control Panel \ Administrator Tools under Application.

hmm if it indicates its already installed its wierd that i cant install dol + when i connect to microsoft update center it tells me to download and install .net framework 2.0 (should tell me to if its allready installed)?

What exactly are you trying to install from Dawn of Light?
Please try to download this.
Try installing that, and tell me if it fixes your problems.

OK just got this sorted. previous versions of .NET framework uninstalls left fragments still in the registry ( not seen anything like that since the early days of windows)

He has a neat wee uninstall utility (well done Aaron, it worked 1st time) as well as other handy troubleshooting tips.

if your system re-boots to minimum resolution don't panic. just re-install your video drivers(NVIDIA 7300 in my case)

Edit:
Take time to download your Updated Video Drivers from Manufacturers website before doing this, due to his last note in the quote.

I'd recommend using the Dawn of Light Server List, or the Uthgard Launcher to update your game-client to the current EU patch. It's faster then changing files by hand.
