I am trying to get my friend to play here on Uthgard. He did exactly what i've done to get it to work patching and all but his game keeps crashing. My only question is will this game run on Vista, because he seems to think it's the server/launcher and not his OS.

if there is anyway to somhow make this compatible with Vista your help would be appreciated. I use XP Professional so i'm in the clear with a lvl 14 fire wizard but I'd like to get my friend playing too because he's a veteran of the live servers. I also hear alot of people saying downgrade from v1.90 to v1.88 but I use v1.90 with the US client and havnt ran into any problems. I havn't even gone link dead once in 5 days of playing on this server.

A little Google search brought this result.

I would start checking the UAC thingy because I doubt that re-installing actually changes anything.

I'm using Vista and the game runs fine.

Make sure you run EU Patch 1.88

vista 64 bit 32bit daoc client runs fine

I remember there was an issue on the live servers when Vista was first released too. It might pay to look at the live camelot herald to find info on how to make the DAOC client work with vista.
