Regarding salvaging/selling while leveling Tailoring

I'm only in the 300-400 bracket of Tailoring at the moment, and so far I've found that I'm better off selling my completed pieces back to merchant for silver/gold than I am salvaging them for materials, but things are becoming far more expensive as I progress. Is there a point where the material return on salvaging outweighs selling, or is salvaging targeted more toward gear dropped by mobs?

its always like this. Selfcrafted stuff sellback > salvageamount in money
