What is the most efficient way to progress from 800-950 in armorcrafting? I've followed the guardiansofvalor guide up to this point, crafting OJ/YEL boots and gloves plus the occasional sleeves. Should I begin crafting netherium items at this point, or stick to asterite? If netherium, where are the vendors who sell the mats (eldritch leather squares, wynvernskin thread, and netherium metal bars)? Allakzams is outdated on this. Thanks. [edit: Midgard]

First of all, which realm are you playing in? I assume Albion or Midgard, since you're talking netherium.

For example, if in Albion, it's actually cheapest to skill with Plate. Though higher initial costs for material, it's actually less loss per item on sellback.

For example: plate gauntlets, skill 815 -> ~18g17s in costs, ~1g16s loss on sellback, while you lose ~2g50s on a studded gauntlet, also skill 815. The downside to this is, you may need a tailor standing next to you making you the required linen.

Same is also truth for Midgard/Hibernia, just with chain/scale of course. But also here: downside is, you need the tailor next to you, or use your own and mule around a lot, which is a PAIN since the vendors for the material are in the relic keeps and the crafting keeps (Benowyc, Crauchon, Bledmeer).

On the other hand, don't bother crafting the higher stuff from the old asterite material, they're overly expensive.

Thanks, I am Midgard.

I've leveling up to 800 solely on studded leather items that were OJ/YEL. Did I just waste a bunch of money by not skilling on chain?

To those advocating using netherium chain to skill up, do you recommend buying in bulk from a tailor in advance or just leveling up a level 5 tailor alt?

Time is money, only idiots level with chain, or people who have a lot of afk time at work. The time you spend making the damn linings could be time spent farming stuff, so it evens out. Anyway, netherium is very hard to come by in large quantities. My recommendation is to go to malmo entrance and kill a bunch of those backwood marodors, they drop crowns that salvage for 24 tempered leather. Get a bunch of that and after resell you're ok, you practically leveled the netherium phase for free doing studded boots/gloves.
It is what it is.
