Aere, just ask me next time!!!!

I've levelled a Tailor and an Armorcrafter up to 1000+ just so that I wouldn't have to worry about buying liners from someone else. If I need them, I make them on my tailor, drop them in the guild house vault and pick it up with my Armorcrafter.

It's not complicated nor is it hard to lvl either skill, really.

I don't see what the problem is.

This is a "classic" server and I am completely happy with how the crafting system works...

I don't see why it should be so difficult to find a player-run Tailor to help you out with some basic armor? A lot of people have spent their time to level one crafter or the other. As far as I remember this is a (M)MORPG, isn't it? It's not the base design of the game to have a rule-them-all char, neither a stealth-casting healer-warrior nor a jack-of-all-trades crafter. Maybe try playing together?!

And even if you don't want to rely on others there is still the option of having two characters plus a house on one account. (This has already been suggested multiple times.)

ad 1) It used to work when I was crafting. (Although I have to admit that it has been a while...) Is this a change related to the 1.83 crafting fix that is required for Alchemy, too? Renaming the items shouldn't be too hard, as long as we know which version is needed. There's not much sense in changing all roman leather sleeves into roman sleeves when the result is that the other half of the server population (who might be just fine now) can't use them afterwards.
ad 2) That's nothing we can help you with. Go talk to EA/Mythic about it.
ad 3) See first paragraph.

PS: Tailor (1132)
Happy hunting!

i am not sure what the leather stuff is called in albion but for example
if you want to craft improved chain sleeves (af 102) you need tempered siluric leather sleeves (af 96).
and it should tell you that you are missing these in the log window.

hope i am right here cause i could only check motogs for the names of the armor
