Need help to make my armor

I have finally got a spellcrafted set of armor for my warrior. But what kind of effects are good to put on them. Example I see I can put absorb damage proc, lifedrain, self haste. If I understand, these effects would all have a chance to launch after the item was hit. I will put direct damage on my swowd' but what to put on my shield also, as it will hit a lot also.
