I have been reading about DF salvaging on various tradeskill guides and I am not sure I am understanding it properly. Is it true that you just purchase seals from a vendor for gold, purchase items with seals at a DF vendor, salvage the items, trinket the mats, and sell them back to a vendor? It sounds like you just sit at a vendor and make infinite gold. Is there something I'm missing?

You are almost there - you do not purchase the seals (unless buying them from housing say) - you farm for the seals in DF by killing the mobs there, convert them to items, salvage the items into bars and trinket the bars - then sell the end product back to a merchant.

Links should hopefully make it clearer for you

There is a fair bit of time investment when it comes to trinketing, to make solid money from it.

Ah ok that makes sense. I had looked up diamond seals on allakhazam and saw that they could be bought from trifecta vendors in addition to being farmed in DF. Looking closer it looks like the trifecta dealers are some sort of gambling instead of direct purchasing? And I guess maybe arent even in the game at this patch level.
