Largest Battle Yet?

Judging from comms chatter and seeing the action first hand. Has the Midgard Campaign in Albion today (2/24) resulted in the largest battle of the server yet?
Alb and Mid each fielded well over 100+ and multiple battles took place. Taking a step back from Realm partisanship and accusations of dev bias it is important to acknowledge what we are seeing here. We are seeing large scale battles in Old Frontiers. This has not been seen for well over a decade. Many of us were hoping for this but only expecting 8v8s. Thank you for delivering large scale battles again. Hibs even showed up for a minute! I congratulate the leaders of the alb and mid zergs today. You have shown DAOC is a strategic game that requires thought, planning, anticipation and cunning. Games like ESO have tried to recreate RvR but have not captured the essence of RvR. Thank you devs and thank you community Cheers Nitholiak VonSchlichten - Evil Necro Farmer - Grandmaster Tailor

Very well coordinated zergs today. Gratz mids, you were a bit lucky some alb alliances split up and didn't form back properly, so organisation took longer than it should.
Hope GMs are fine with what they have stated, that they are fine with just 80 people (300ppl was Trishin Statement long time ago) playing the game under their vision.
Its important to leave this server running doesn't matter how low the numbers will be. The other servers can fail but Uthgard still will be there, thats Uthgards only chance. Edit 19/09/21: Well Uthgards chance has come. |

I heard the Mids logged out right behind Myrddin before the server reboot and rushed the doors immediately after it came back up. Any truth to that?
Regardless, was a fun series of fights at the relic keep after they got away with their power relic. |

No, I was with the relic raid today. It was formed in Svasud after reboot. |
|
I heard that in the Alb BG at Myrddin as well, cheap ass Tactic! Aren't they supposed to be ported back to mid? |
|
I can't speak for mids (as I was not online). But it's a pretty common tactic here apparently (hibs / albs has done the same). Just about done..

1. Already refuted this story 2. Even if true, Mids wouldn't be the first realm to do it 3. What exactly is "cheap" about it? Seems to me if Albs didn't notice a relic raid size group of mids roaming their frontier before reboot, or even a steady stream of people roaming their frontier and suddenly disappearing without explanation, it is on the Albs for not being aware something strange was going on in their frontier. 4. If albs are concerned about such surprise attack tactics being employed against them, then maybe try logging out inside the relic keep or at the border keep to counter. 5. Sounds like someone needs a tissue. |

I know you weren't responding to me, but I wouldn't really have had an issue with it myself if it had been true. It's not like every realm can't do it. I was just curious if Mid's that much more organized than we are at present. |

The largest Uthgard 2 battle so far had happened last friday during the Albion relic raid.
Although the magic relics were taken nearly uncontested, Albion raided all keeps but 1 and went with about 120 people to Mjolnir. Well, at Mjolnir the Albs got steamrolled by 150+ Mids. The server had a really tough time, the castdelay lag all Albionis knew from the beginning of Uth2 was real again, people were scared the server could die. Today, the relic fight between Albs and Mids was tiny in comparison to last week. There wasnt even a little lag though. |

nope. the raid was formed at svasud faste directly after server came up again. Bigboyo <Los Boyos el Grande> Grand Overlord of Midgard and Slayer of Virgins

We had planned the raid before the server went down and agreed to log out in Svasud prior to server down so we could quickly form the raid as soon as the server came up. Well, the server reboot created some connection problems and many people couldn't get logged in quickly so we went with a much smaller force than planned. It was enough, however, because the Albs had the same issues getting back into the game. I think the largest cluster of Albs we saw contained 55 or so and we quickly wiped them at Earsleigh. Of course that fight at Ears was after we had gotten the relic home.

Ya, largest battle by far was 2 Friday's ago at the Mid Strength Relic keep, there are videos of it uploaded. Almost a 200v200, just YouTube "defense of molljner" (spelling)

I really don't care either way about what tactics the mids did or didn't use, but suggesting that albs should just stay logged out at the relic keep all the time still makes you look like an ass to me. |
|
We mean the same battle. But there were only ~120 Albs. Maybe 100, maybe 140, but by far not 200. Dont know about the numbers of Midgard, but they were superior, dont know if they were 200. Maybe? |

Albs were caught with our pants down.
Nobody knew the relic keep was being attacked. Our alliance didnt even hear about it until Mids were on the 3rd door. Nitholiak VonSchlichten - Evil Necro Farmer - Grandmaster Tailor
