that's all you have to say!

baselinestun on det tanks :D
sos, bof could force you to make mistakes on your fight....... so i would say casual realm is mid, then alb and far away hib.
Maybe that's why hib is underpopulated. You rly need a good group to face alb or mid groups.
edit: sry forgot ice theu pets ;)
edit2: would say only casuals cry about baseline stun. :hammer:

So i was thinking..whats all the utility each group tries to get.

Speed, mez, root, spec buffs, bases, healerx2, ns, disease, endo, pbt, 6 resists,

Lets see what each realm has to run to get all of that

Hib-druid druid bard warden eld

Mid-healer healer shaman skald rm

Alb-cleric cleric friar ministrel paladin, sorc cabalist thurg

Im beginning too see the problem....

Want a caster assist? Caby now has to tri spec, meaning blue ns and 30%/15% debuff.

Standard thurg runs yellow pbt vs both hib/mid running red

Albs cant get red strength con without dropping spreadheal.

1k endo range is brutal.

And what utility do you drop to get that det tank.....friar resists gone....paly endo/chants gone....

Now your weak to hibs and have to pau gobs of money for endo pots.

Why does people who like the theory craft always spend 90% of their time trying to build the alb 8 man? Hint...their not building the ultimate 8 man.....they're trying to build a competitive 8 man.

Dont get me wrong. Great players will shine regardless. But those players will shine even brighter running mid/hib 8 mans.

'06 alb 8 mans were great, '01 albs just relied on shear numbers, something that doesnt exist here.

Realm choice doesn't matter much...rock/paper/scissors

I was always played alb but chose hib from the beta to change things up...

Things were looking grim there at the beginning but we've come around as we've gotten some RRs.

The difference in being in a good guild/alliance vs not is what is night and day about DaoC...

Right now Hib has a damn good social thing going on. That makes it enjoyable.

Lots of communication, lots of options, good leaders, lots of help for whatever need you have.

Hes now playing a ranger, so he will join in...
Hope GMs are fine with what they have stated, that they are fine with just 80 people (300ppl was Trishin Statement long time ago) playing the game under their vision.
Its important to leave this server running doesn't matter how low the numbers will be. The other servers can fail but Uthgard still will be there, thats Uthgards only chance.

Edit 19/09/21: Well Uthgards chance has come.

no, just not that active at the moment.

Alb biggest problems are necro, pve and community wise and the uselessness of pala overall.

I would agree some small changes would help alot. 2k endo, det3ish for hybrids, something to make friars better.

I doubt any changes will come though.

I was born a hib and that's the way I'll end my career. I never had any desire to play mid or alb even on live. Only a desire to kill them. :D That's one reason I don't want the realm switch timer to change.. encourages realm pride.

tbh i didn't saw any good alb group running with friar or pali........
Casual Alb groups are trying to sos on inc, if you'r playing hib casters. Most of them fail on that.

edit: ok, Dark Dawn doing rly fine with arms + pali......... but didn't see any other competitive 8 man beside them who was running pali

I first came to Hib because my first character, back at launch, was a Celt Hero named Alanna and, well, you can't do that in Mid or Alb. :) I've stayed because I have a guild and friends I'm quite fond of. I did enjoy being the most underpopulated realm for a long time. Now that we have more than 1/3 during US prime, it's a little demotivating. Kinda looking forward to the great migration of of Hib so we can be underdogs again. :)

Like Ownnyn said, building groups on alb is hard, because the vital skills are spread out on to many characters (or are lacklustering as on paladin).

But it's also a necro problem combined with AT chants on paladin, that amounts to leveling up on Albion being a very non-social experience. You end up having met few outside your guild by the time you are in the 40's.
Albion and having fun

I feel a great deal of pity (and empathy) for anybody trying to level in Alb and not getting powerleveled. To be honest, finding a Paladin to xp was difficult with 1500 or so alb players at launch. It must be damn near impossible now.

Imagine how hard it was once people realized how undepowered palys were in rvr....or that the role they were suppose to fill was taken by an alchemist.

Imagine a cleric not getting grouped because heal and buff potions were..."good enough to get by."

I remember during beta I was playing a paladin to test the endurance range, and I asked Zurfette for an RvR group. He responded "no thanks I have all my paladins in my inventory"
