Why so much negativity?
You are calling people pve retards,why? Every player have right of gameplay choice and you can't call them names for it.
Also I can't agree with your last sentence too, because (atleast during that few events I participated) there was quite enough RvR active players.
If you want know my personal motivation, I want meet my guildmates after month+, because I miss that bunch of nice people and blue sunday would be good opportunity to see them.

This is the breakdown of players out rvr'ing:

When the event starts:

75 Alb Players in Emain
45 HIb Players in Emain
253 Mid players in Emain - 200 of them are Bd's with 4 pets each, which means 800 pets, plus the 25 extra pets from Sm's (this is not an exageration)

Mids port to emain and take DC in less than a minute total, then mids hit AMG and camp there until the albs show up on the alb side, fight ensues, then the hibs backdoor the mids on the hib side of amg, nice fight ensues where the mids win AS ALWAYS!

1 hour after event start:

40 Alb players in emain trying to take DC from the mids
3 Hib stealthers in Emain watching milegates and DC, the other 72 hibs are in Dagda with shrooms everywhere watching mids take all of hib keeps in no time
332 Mid Players in Collory hitting Scaith

Mids take scaith and finally hit Dagda, the hibs are overwhelmed by BD pets and shammy DOTS, and take all 3 power relics, but on the way home with the last 2, holsten says "we can't take these back yet, hibs will all leave, albs will go hide in Excal and we will get 0 rps" "lets drop the alb relic off at apk, and the hib relic off at Ligen to keep them interested further". The zerg screams and yells "NO, take them home"

2 hours after event it start:
=======================
ALbs have 50 people hugging excal walls and ramparts while the remaining 300 mids take alb keeps in no time
Hibs are completely gone from RvR for the next 2 weeks
Mids finally take ren and hit excal with ease and take home all 3 strength relics

2 1/2 hours after Event start:
=========================
0 Albs are out in RvR, we either logged or are pve'ing
0 Hibs are out in RvR, either logged or pveing the mine
453 mids are out in RvR wondering where everyone else is

Event over, Mids all log, Lag is gone across the server, and mids have 6 relics.
