Who did you play on genesis pweet?
Double bard is effective but unnecessary if one of the bards is a great player. Will most likely see double bards with groups that can't find a stellar bard. I'd be very surprised to see req or fatality run 2 bards Cheers,

Req will run 2 Bards according to that cheesehead Cait. [3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt [3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck

This is a fantastic thread, by the way.

Nope. just look at keep defenses. this is where bomb grps shine. Spam Aoe stun on top of your bomb tower and you can watch the rps rain in. In open field, bomb grps are wasted. on evry realm Edit: although one bomb paired up with a good blocker can do wonders. PBAOE dmg is the highest delve damage spell, so why not pin down the targets so they cant run. Here Hib has a nice advantage, since a manaeld an still nearsight, even though it has only blue (i think) one. Then you make a death trap out of the "bait" eldrich. 2 enemy offtanks, 2x shield slam, combined with old moc, powerfull stuff. |

Two bards were way better on Genesis than they will be on Uthgard.
AM gonna be useless vs god mode on Bugesis There won't be x4 health regen song, grps were actually using this for proper healing infight wtf. No instant speed drop after amnesia makes one bard viable <<< This avatar is handmade by Inotor Wurzelbert : ) Check out the Mampfer-Threads for more. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=25079 viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26934 |

personally i hope not to see too many double bard groups. i find it rather lame just like triple healer or multiple minst setups. of course everyone can build groups they way they want and thats just my opinion. fighting certain setups you end up saying "****** that was lame" over and over again
i liked 2xheal, supprm and 1 bard setups way better than the others (fighting against and playing them) |

we r not rly sure to go on hib yet but if we do i dont think we ll play with 2 bards at all. we still talking about where we going, jim and jonl pref hib tho, but i dont. |

What realm will be the strongest for equal sized zerg vs zerg? For example 32vs32 in open field? or 32v32 in keep fights?
|
|
Hib will be best at defending keeps. other than that mid should be the best Zerg realm because of amnesia spam, tank train and PR |

got a question, dunno what to make out of it.
which class (all realms) will enable me to jumpstart my own action in the most solid and sustainable way? that includes filling in as standin as much as possible during PT, building duos / smallmans, build my own pug and alike, and be able to have the greatest impact as a class at the same time in these groups. besides thinking about minimum viable setups that offer a solid basis to build a full group later on, this will need to take into consideration population/realm distribution and "pug density" per realm, availability of other classes, average skill available to form pugs, actual week/day time to play etc. thats why i cannot come to an actual conclusion. examplarily thoughts: hib: first guess was bard, but then again there will be plenty of bards during PT as every guild will have "their" bards. same goes for druids. actually thinking eld? might be fun during non PT hours, but I guess same applies for elds as for bards during PT. mid: generally I assume mid to be extremly overpopulated. especially because it is so easy to build pugs. so afterall this will not jumpstart my personal action, as there will be less to fight. if not, I'd actually think healer / shaman would be ideal. alb: i assume alb to be the least populated realm during non PT hours. smallman albs have been - historically speaking - quite enjoyable in non PT hours due to the abundance of enemies to fight. now, cleric - well, even with tons of stuff to fight, there is literally no more action in this class with 1.65. sorc? super dependant on your groupmates. merc always required as stand-in but extremly hard to get anything going. i guess the thinking is clear. so whats the class that will maximize ones action on the field in general? and then, job-wise, when you will most likely only be able to play during odd hours on the weekend |

Minstrel could be good choice.
- You can solo - duo with nearly all other toons - trio..up to every fg - join stealth teams - and you can have a huge impact on the fights Fabienne - Blademaster
Junia - Bard Audrina - Ench ----- Zoe - Sorc Stella - Pala Devon - Scout |
|
Minstrel, because good ones will be rare and every group needs at least one
|
|
well, he asked above which role he should pick to perform in a certain way. That means, he isnt the most experienced player, if i judge this correctly. Minstrel can be REALY good if played correctly, but it is a really complex class! So imho if somebody takes on the Minstrel challenge, he should be up to: - Switching instruments AND songs - Manage a Pet - Having a good eye for a battle, to see where interrupts/stun/mezz is needed - Apply the above correctly - React on inc for correct SOS If he cant do all the above, the mins will be a Wasted slot that has Zero impact on a fight. |
|
I mean Shintari is old and rusty but Im sure he can handle playing a minstrel on a classic server
|
|
Minstrel/Trispec Healer/Bard would be my #1's for each realm. I think you're experienced enough to see the reasoning behind these suggestions. Also keep in mind that double bard, triple healer and double minstrel grps are going to be viable
